Licensed Professional Counselor Associate with a Certification in Expressive Arts Therapy
Larisa Kenney Hobbs is a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate with a Certification in Expressive Arts Therapy as well as 8 years of yoga teaching experience as a Registered Yoga Teacher. She works with ages 12 and up and offers individual counseling as well as Expressive Arts Therapy and yoga-based groups for both teens and adults.
She is a graduate of the Professional School Counseling Masters programs at Appalachian State University, has a certification in Expressive Arts Therapy, is a National Certified Counselor, and leads regular mindfulness skills groups with middle school students. Larisa brings a body centered approach to her counseling work. Through a variety of techniques drawing from yoga, Expressive Arts Therapy, and Gestalt therapy, she focuses on helping clients develop self-awareness, and learn to be grounded in the present moment.
Larisa believes the creative process to be a powerful tool in healing and incorporates different art modalities including, but not limited to, writing, dance, movement, poetry, visual journaling, painting, and drawing. She has worked with a variety of issues in the school setting including anxiety, relationship issues, and self-esteem and will be under the direct supervision of Annamarie Gallagher, LPCS at Camel City Counseling.
